POWER OF TRUST
Future Machine is an ongoing initiative bringing artists and makers, tradespeople, industry leaders, and technology pioneers into one mission--demonstrating the potential for innovation that a blend of diverse voices invites. This is volume 2 of Future Machine.
Energy is one of the most important topics facing our modern, industrialized civilization. Public trust for the government and news and media are at historic lows. We seek to raise awareness of the origin of power and prompt a larger examination of public trust and consequence.
It is up to us as the builders, creators, thinkers, to keep ourselves accountable for this upfront responsible thinking. For this project an artist collective, architect, builder and engineer have come together to bring their unique thoughts and processes to the table.
We must participate in the discussion of what responsible energy. We owe it to ourselves and our community to understand and question our energy source and build a responsible and equitable foundation. Only then can we collectively build back the trust.
By recontextualizing over 200 nuclear cooling fins into an art installation that provokes reflection that leads to a more thoughtful future. The fins are a metaphor for consumers (society) taking industry at face-value and if left unattended the repercussions that can take shape.
